Incredible Inspiration from the Voices of Glory Jun 23

Hi Friends,

Tonight America’s Got Talent premiered and ended with three incredible singers. They are 16, 13 and 9 yrs old with an incredible testimony on how they got started singing. They are the brothers and sister group named Voices of Glory. As they were singing, tears started flowing from my eyes. This video of their performance is powerful and inspirational. By far my favorite talent act of the night!!!

Take a moment out to rate this post below and share it with all your family and friends. Would love to hear your comments about these 3 amazing children!!

Have an inspired day and remember, no matter what, don’t lose faith and never give up!

Your Friend,

DL Faith

It’s Friday Jun 19

Hi Friend,

It’s Friday!! Wow, this week has flown by for me. I can’t believe it’s Friday already! This weekend is Father’s Day and I want to wish all the Father’s out there a Happy Early Father’s Day. You are important to your kids whether they are young or old. As a Father, you make a difference in your children’s lives. So, thank you for being there for your kids, now and throughout the year. Enjoy this weekend that is set aside just for you.

I will be taking time this weekend to try and make it special for my husband, so as far as posting anything on DontLoseFaith this weekend, it will have to wait until Monday. If you have any comments, please feel free to leave them and I will be replying to them on Monday. Smile

Today June 19th  in History:

Magna Charta signed, Runnymede, 1215.

Blaise Pascal born 1623.

Charles H. Spurgeon born 1834.

Inspirational Quotes:
Find your niche and fill it. If it is ever so little, if it is only a hewer of wood or a drawer of water, do something in the great battle for God and truth.     –Charles Spurgeon.

If I do what I may in earnest, I need not mourn if I work no great work on earth. To help the growth of a thought that struggles toward the light; to brush with gentle hand the stain from the white of one snowdrop–such be my ambition.     –George Macdonald.

Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all thy work, and in all that
thou puttest thy hand unto.     –Deuteronomy 15:10.

Lord God, I pray that I may not through conceit be betrayed into
slacking in my work, or through visions of greatness lose it. Teach me
how to obtain the secret wealth in the smallest thing; and may I
recognize thy treasures, and fill my life with the finest that may be
given me. Amen.

Well, that’s it for today! Stay inspired and remember, always, no matter what, don’t lose faith and never give up!

Your Friend,

If I had my life to live over Jun 13

Hi Friend,

I got this email from a close friend of mine today about if I had my life to live over by Erma Bombeck and I wanted to share it with you. Cool

Before I share it with you though, this email got me to thinking about how life passes us by so quickly and like Erma, as I get older, it seems that the little things that used to bug me, are now precious memories. Sometimes, I wonder if I had been able to see back then, what I know now, how I would have treated my life differently. The things that seemed so important back then are not the things that are important to me now. I now don’t worry over the little things as much and my life is so much happier. I know we cannot change our past though but by faith, I am able to make the best of each and every day I have left to live on this earth. I love making a difference in people’s lives and sharing inspiration with others is part of that. I hope today, as you reflect on your past it is for the purpose of living a better tomorrow.

check the rearview mirror but only for a momentTo me, I think of it like this: If we focus on our past for too long, it’s like being the driver of a car who is constantly looking in the rearview mirror. That driver, while looking in the rearview mirror is an important part of driving, will inevitably crash if this becomes their sole driving technique. It is important to check the rearview mirror but more importantly the driver of the car needs to keep their eyes on the road ahead to avoid a crash. This will keep you safe and that is an illustration that helps me when I get stuck starring for long lengths of time at my past. I always remind myself, that I need to take the lessons I have learned from my past, and use them to better my future. I hope you take time to look in the rearview mirror just long enough to keep driving forward into a bright and happy future, the kind of future that you can then look back at just long enough to know that where you have come from has made a difference in the lives of those around you who you love.

Ok, now for the Erma Bombeck email, here it is:

If I had my life to live over by Erma Bombeck:

  • I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
  • I would have eaten the popcorn in the GOOD” living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
  • I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
  • I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up! on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
  • I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
  • I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
  • I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
  • I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I wasn’t there for the day.
  • I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
  • Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment realizing that the wonderment growing inside me was! The only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
  • When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, “Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.”
  • There would have been more “I love you’s” and more “I’m sorry’s” but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute…..look at it and really see it … live it. And never give it back.

Have a blessed day and remember, always, no matter what, don’t lose faith and never give up!

Your Friend,

DL Faith

P.S. Don’t forget to let me know your thoughts about … If I had my life to live over… I look forward to hearing from you. Smile

Inspiring Quotes from History:

Exceeding gifts from God are not blessings, they are duties. They do not always increase a man’s happiness; they always increase his responsibilities.
–Charles Kingsley.

Make a rule and pray for help to keep it. Once a day spare room for a thought that will pursue a strong purpose. Help in some way the progress of a weary soul who cannot repay you.
–M. B. S.

There is no true potency, remember, but that of help; nor true ambition, but ambition to save.
–John Ruskin
.

And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noon day.
–Isaiah 58:10.

Inspirational Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

When I think of how little I have given away, my heart burns with shame, as I recall what You have given to me. May I from this day forward be more thoughtful of Your tender loving compassion, by being less selfish with what I have.

Ice Cream is Good Jun 09

Hi Friends,

I had a chance today to eat some ice cream & boy, was it good! I haven’t had ice cream in a long time, but it sounded so good I couldn’t help myself.

While I was thoroughly enjoying my ice cream, I was wondering if any of you that come and read my thoughts think Ice Cream is good too? If you do, after reading the story below, it would be awesome to hear what flavors are your favorites.

I personally like Mint Chocolate Chip, even though I am allergic to chocolate (chocolate gives me hives and I pay for eating it later with uncontrollable itching) I eat it when I can. LOL I just can’t help my love for chocolate, especially mint chocolate chip ice cream… yum yum!!

So anyways, you are probably wondering what ice cream has to do with inspiration? Well, I am glad you asked.Laughing Out Loud  Besides wondering what your favorite ice cream is (when I was eating mine), I also remembered the story about this young boy I had read and thought you might enjoy it too. So, for today’s  inspirational story about ice cream here it is:

ice cream is good

Ice Cream is Good

for the Soul Author unknown

Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, “God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!”

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark, “That’s what’s wrong with this country. Kids today don’t even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!”

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, “Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?”

As I held him and reassured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentle man approached the table.

He winked at my son and said, “I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.”

“Really?” my son asked.

“Cross my heart.” Then in theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), “Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.”

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his ice cream sundae and without a word walked over and placed it in front of the woman.

And then, with a big smile on his face, he whispered into her ear, “Here. . . this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes and my soul is good already.”

I thought this story was sweet! I would love to hear not only what your favorite ice cream is, but also what your inspirational thoughts about this story are. To share your thoughts all you need to do is fill in your name and email below along with those thoughts in the ‘leave a reply’ field.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and as always, no matter what don’t lose faith and never give up!

Your Friend,

DL Faith

The Arrow and The Song Jun 08

Hi everyone!

After looking at this Web Site it has become apparent the inspirational poems section is lacking! So, for those who are inspired by great poetry you will find in the next few days a great addition!

Excerpts of the ‘Poems of Inspiration’ Collection is a wonderful and inspiring compilation of poems. This collection will be added to the inspirational poems page at dontlosefaith.com.  Here’s the first one for you. It’s called the arrow and the song:

We can calculate with fair accuracy the number of miles an automobile will go in an hour. We can gauge pretty closely the amount of merchandise a given sum of money will buy. But a good deed or a kind impulse is not measurable. Their influence works in devious ways and lives on when perhaps we can see them no more.

I shot an arrow into the air,
  It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
  It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
  I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Poet's Name:
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Let us know what you thought of Henry’s poem below and as always, remember, no matter what don’t lose faith and never give up!

This is an inspiring news story of Gabe, their adopted son from Brazil. But, I think after you watch Gabe in action and see him talking about his catch phrase: ” I can do it with a SMILE on my face! Big Grin“, you too will know just what I mean by inspiring!!!

I was so inspired after watching this video, it left me wanting to know more about how Gabe is doing today, being as the video was posted back in 2007. So, I spent a long time trying to find out more information about how Gabe and his family are doing now, but I couldn’t find any current information. I did, however come across a news article about Gabe when he was made honorary pilot at the 419th Air Force Reserve Unit at Hill Air Force Base when he was in the second grade, back in 06, which was really neat. They gave him his own uniform and his mom Janelle was thrilled.

I really would like to know how Gabe and his family are doing now.  Gabe has a very  inspiring catch phrase near the end of the video, where he optimistically says: ” I can do it with a smile on my face.” This boy really can do things that most people would think to be impossible.

The next six minutes will be well worth your time when you click the play button below to watch this inspiring video about Gabe Adams.

After watching, if you or anyone you know, knows the Adams family and could let us know how they are doing , just post a comment below by filling in your name, email and comment in the fields under the video.

Or, if you are like me and were just inspired by Gabe Adams’ story,  please leave a reply below by putting your name, email and comment in the fields below the video to share your thoughts.

So, now here’s Gabe Adams Story in the video right here, Enjoy Exclaimaition Mark

Now that you are in awe, that an 8 yr old boy like Gabe could do so many things that should be impossible but he does them by himself with a smile on his face, Big Grin don’t forget to share how Gabe has inspired you.

And as always, no matter what don’t lose faith and never give up!

Your Friend,

DL Faith
