Under the Gun Funny Poem Author: DLFaith Jul 13

Hi Friend,

Today I thought I would share a funny poem with you. Things are not always what they seem and this poem is an example of that. Enjoy!

Under the Gun

When I think of my life…
I feel such strife
Cuz I know it’s under the gun.
I can’t seem to think
so, I look for a drink
And then I beg for some fun!
How come it’s so hard
to make my ends meet?
How come it’s like lard
under my feet?
I know this life
shouldn’t have such strife
but, what can I expect
when I’m a reject!
I feel all alone
and I need a bone!
Maybe my master will come home
to answer his phone.
Then he will nudge my hide,
and maybe, he’ll take me outside…

Hi everyone!

After looking at this Web Site it has become apparent the inspirational poems section is lacking! So, for those who are inspired by great poetry you will find in the next few days a great addition!

Excerpts of the ‘Poems of Inspiration’ Collection is a wonderful and inspiring compilation of poems. This collection will be added to the inspirational poems page at dontlosefaith.com. Here’s the first one for you. It’s called the arrow and the song:

We can calculate with fair accuracy the number of miles an automobile will go in an hour. We can gauge pretty closely the amount of merchandise a given sum of money will buy. But a good deed or a kind impulse is not measurable. Their influence works in devious ways and lives on when perhaps we can see them no more.



  I shot an arrow into the air,
  It fell to earth, I knew not where;
  For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
  Could not follow it in its flight.

  I breathed a song into the air,
  It fell to earth, I knew not where;
  For who has sight so keen and strong,
  That it can follow the flight of song?

  Long, long afterward, in an oak
  I found the arrow, still unbroke;
  And the song, from beginning to end,
  I found again in the heart of a friend.

My Life Sucks!!

Inspirational Poem written on November 9, 2007

When my life sucks
it really sucks.

It feels like I am all alone
With nowhere to call my home.

I messed up with my kids and now they don’t call
I love them dearly and wish I could talk to them all

I don’t deserve to have anything
and I guess that’s why I can’t sing

Anyways, enough about me
My life sucks as you can see.

What about yours?
I hope it is good.

Don’t be like me
and mess your life up.

Make sure you love and care for those
Who mean the most, who you hold close.

Trust me when I say
you don’t want to go through this pain.

The pain of knowing you messed up
so always think before you speak up.

Never do anything you will regret
and trust in God so you can be happy and set!

A hug will help you when you’re down
To turn your mouth into an upside down frown

When you think that your life sucks
Just remember the feathery ducks

Their lives spent in the air and water
At least you know you have a Father.

A Father who loves you and keeps you safe
One that erases all your mistakes.

Trust in Him, He will help you to know
He loves you and will keep you close.
Remember, no matter what you did
you are always His very special kid.

I know your life may seem sucky
but in reality you are more than lucky.
Your feelings are real but this doesn’t mean
that giving up is ever a good thing.
Today will always be tomorrow’s yesterday
So hang in there and remember those feelings will soon pass away.

In order to help you here and now
ask your Father to show you how.
How to imagine the Love that flows
the love that becomes like warm fuzzy glows.

Ask Him to take away your pain
to forgive you and to keep you sane.
Never give up and know you’re not alone
He loves you and can make you feel right at home.

It is important to warn the rest
that choices we make are not always the best,
but if you have chosen these wrong ways
God can still use you to help others not make those mistakes.

All things work together for good
and your testimony will help many as I know it should.
So, yes, your life may seem like it sucks
but in reality it’s worth more than a million bucks!

I hope this response will help you to see
Your life has helped many to believe.

So never give up and know this is true
you are loved and can always get through!

JESUS KNOWS

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

I KNEW EVERYTHING WAS GONNA BE ALRIGHT!

THE LORD SAID HE’D TAKE CARE

AND I KNOW MY TRUST IS THERE.

JESUS CAME TO SAVE

AND MAKE IT ALL O.K.

THOUGH THE TRIALS MAY COME AND GO,

THE SAVIOR ALWAYS KNOWS

THAT THROUGH THESE TIMES, HE’S GONNA MAKE YOU GROW

–AND THIS IS WHY YOU’VE GOT TO GIVE HIM CONTROL!!!!

PRAISE THE LORD TODAY: MORNING , NOON & NIGHT,
PRAISE THE LORD EACH DAY & GIVE HIM ALL YOUR FIGHTS.

P.S. I AM RECOPYING THIS ON APRIL 24TH, 1998. 8 YEARS and 6 DAYS LATER. THIS POEM HAS TRULY BEEN A BLESSING TO ME MORE SO THAN WHEN I WROTE IT. EXACTLY ONE YEAR AFTER I WAS INSPIRED TO WRITE THIS…OUR PRECIOUS FOSTER BABY , CHRISTOPHER, WENT HOME TO BE WITH JESUS (April 18,1991). I FOUND THIS POEM A WHILE LATER AND REALIZED THAT GOD KNEW CHRISTOPHER WAS GONNA GO HOME TO BE WITH HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. TO ME, THIS POEM MEANS THAT GOD DOES KNOW WHAT IS BEST AND SPARED CHRISTOPHER OF ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT HIS SHORT LITTLE LIFE HERE ON EARTH HAD EXPERIENCED. GOD HAS ALSO ALLOWED ME TO GROW STRONGER WITH HIM IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES. THE DEATH OF A CHILD IS A TRAJEDY , BUT GOD IS THERE TO HEAL THE PAIN AND SHOW THE WAY. SINCE THEN HE HAS ALLOWED ME TO HAVE 4 WONDERFUL CHILDREN OF MY OWN TO RAISE IN HIS WAYS. HE IS TOTALLY AN AWESOME GOD. AND NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN MY LIFE…I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM!

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS AND PRAY, PRAY , PRAY. JESUS KNOWS WHAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US MUST GO THROUGH IN THIS LIFE. HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HE IS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU ESPECIALLY IN YOUR DARKEST HOURS. LET HIM HELP YOU THROUGH THESE VERY DIFFICULT TIMES. HE IS OUR COMFORTER AND SOME HOW SOMEWAY IN TIME, THINGS WILL GET BETTER.

Set Free

It’s like a prisoner set free
When no one cares about the lonely old me.

Let me go to live with Thee
Let me know there’s something to believe

No one visits, no one cares
No one even comes by to see if I’m there.

Then I slip away one night
I said it’s time for my flight

I finally found someone to care
You took my hand and led me there
It’s beautiful! I CAN’T BELIEVE…
What I’ve missed, I ask to leave.

He held me close and said,
“Though, your life was a mess And it came to a halt
you still can have all of this… by default.

About this poem Set Free: This poem was written after a lonely elderly man passed away in 2006. He had lived a rough life but even still, God loved Him and welcomed him into eternity. No matter what our circumstances in life are, we must never forget that we only get one chance to make friends and to be friendly while we are here. It will help us when we are at the end of our lives, to be surrounded by loved ones rather than dying a lonely death. We all make mistakes in life, and we all should love one another, regardless of the mistakes we have made so we don’t end up lonely in the end. If you find someone that is unlovable, try to love them and show compassion on them so that their hearts will soften and they will know that no matter what they did, there is someone out there that cares. It’s one of the hardest things in life to do: Love the unlovable, but if we all take a chance, amazing things can happen as we work to transform people’s lives.

If you are lonely and feel like noone can love you because of mistakes you have made in your life, there is someone out here that cares. Nothing is so bad that God isn’t able to forgive it and to welcome you into His Loving Arms. He loves you and always has and always will. You are not alone, so hang in there and don’t lose faith and REMEMBER YOU ARE LOVED Now and Always!!

Remember, No Matter What, Don't Lose Faith & Never Give UP!

In August of 1998,
My mom left us with something great!

After her 53 years here on earth,
She gave us 12 words, that have such worth:
“Remember always, No matter what!
Don’t Lose Faith and Never Give Up!”

She wanted to leave us with life’s precious key
The one that would help us to always believe.
Believe that when time is taking its toll
We must always focus on our goal.
Staying positive, knowing we must
Never ever, never give up.

No matter what your life brings,
Always look for the brighter things
When you’re down and can’t get up
Remember victory comes from above
You can’t see it, but you have to know
Faith is an inspiration of things unknown
Whether your life is bright or the worse it’s been
You have to hang on to the now and again.

“Remember always, No matter what!
Don’t Lose Faith and Never Give Up!”
Believe it! They are true.
She said them for me and also for you.
Her 12 words, that came out
can change our lives to help us not doubt.
Think about it and follow it too
