Your Little Angel

Although I’ve never breathed your air,
Or gazed into your eyes
That doesn’t mean I don’t care
It means I can love you from the sky.

I’m your little Angel
Your angel in the sky.
I am here with Jesus
Happy and alive

I know you all love me
I know you don’t understand
But I am safe and happy
I’m holding Jesus’ hand

I’m your little Angel
God called me home so soon
I’m dancing here in heaven
Morning, night and noon.

I didn’t mean to hurt you
or cause you any pain
I know you really loved me
and wanted me to stay.

I really would’ve liked to
but I hope you understand
I am your little Angel
Holding onto Jesus’ hand

Don’t let them say  I wasn’t born,
Or that I broke your heart
I felt each tender pat you gave
I loved you from the start.

Although I was called to leave
It doesn’t mean I am gone
This world was not for me,
God wanted me to move on.

I know this pain which aches your soul,
Which you are  forced to face
Has been so hard, this I know
But someday, we will embrace

Rest and know, I was meant to be,
God doesn’t make mistakes
I know it isn’t easy
I know your heart does ache.

There will come a day and time,
When you can hold my hands,
Stroke my face and be with me,
And then you’ll fully understand.
