Meet Me in the Stairwell Origin May 05

In April of 2008, we received an email forward titled ” Meet Me in the Stairwell“. This email is inspiring to thousands of people around the world. It is a poem/letter written on behalf of God to help comfort those who survived 9 11. It is one of our more popular pages on Don’t Lose Faith.com.

Today I was wondering who the author was and if I could find out. After some extensive research, I found out this email origin.  Stacey Randall from MetInTheStairwell.com is the original author of this very viral email. I also found out that somewhere along the line the original title “Met in the Stairwell” got changed to “Meet Me in the Stairwell”. (I guess it’s kind of  like playing telephone with email forwards. You never know what it will end up like after thousands see it.)

She wrote this poem in 2001 after the tragedy of 9 11 hit. In 2002 a song by the title of  “I was there” was composed, produced and released to radio stations across the US. You can buy a CD of this song from her website at http://metinthestairwell.com. Met in the Stairwell started out to be on her own family website, but has since traveled around the world via email and thousands of websites online.

This is a true testimony of the power of God. How one such writing could travel so far throughout the years since 9 11. We are here 8 years later and it is still a very popular email forward, along with being very popular to read online.

My Life Sucks Apr 27

My Life Sucks!!

Inspirational Poem written on November 9, 2007

My Life SucksWhen my life sucks
it really sucks.

It feels like I am all alone
With nowhere to call my home.

I messed up with my kids and now they don’t call
I love them dearly and wish I could talk to them all

I don’t deserve to have anything
and I guess that’s why I can’t sing

Anyways, enough about me
My life sucks as you can see.

What about yours?
I hope it is good.

Don’t be like me
and mess your life up.

Make sure you love and care for those
Who mean the most, who you hold close.

Trust me when I say
you don’t want to go through this pain.

The pain of knowing you messed up
so always think before you speak up.

Never do anything you will regret
and trust in God so you can be happy and set!

Re: My Life Sucks Nov. 9, 2008

A hug will help you when you’re down
To turn your mouth into an upside down frown

When you think that your life sucks
Just remember the feathery ducks

Their lives spent in the air and water
At least you know you have a Father.

A Father who loves you and keeps you safe
One that erases all your mistakes.

Trust in Him, He will help you to know
He loves you and will keep you close.
Remember, no matter what you did
you are always His very special kid.

I know your life may seem sucky
but in reality you are more than lucky.
Your feelings are real but this doesn’t mean
that giving up is ever a good thing.
Today will always be tomorrow’s yesterday
So hang in there and remember those feelings will soon pass away.

In order to help you here and now
ask your Father to show you how.
How to imagine the Love that flows
the love that becomes like warm fuzzy glows.

Ask Him to take away your pain
to forgive you and to keep you sane.
Never give up and know you’re not alone
He loves you and can make you feel right at home.

It is important to warn the rest
that choices we make are not always the best,
but if you have chosen these wrong ways
God can still use you to help others not make those mistakes.

All things work together for good
and your testimony will help many as I know it should.
So, yes, your life may seem like it sucks
but in reality it’s worth more than a million bucks!

I hope this response will help you to see
Your life has helped many to believe.

So never give up and know this is true
you are loved and can always get through!
